THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALTH INSURANCE WITH MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION
Health insurance is a very valuable thing to have on your side. Allow me to paint you an example.
Say your child has a medical emergency. Let’s say you call for someone to come and get him. Your child is in really bad shape. Everything is going well. All medical personnel of ACC Medlink company is looking after him. He is getting the best treatment possible. Then you come home and find a bill waiting in your mailbox. The bill is over $5,000 for all the treatment your child faced.
Now this might be okay for just one visit. What happens though if this is going to be a normal happenstance for your child? Are you rich enough to cover all the costs? My guess would be a big no. This is why you need good quality health insurance. Depending on what company you have, you could be covered between 80- 100%.
Which means you don’t have to pay for much of everything, which will work out for those who face visit after visit. Please invest in health insurance now. Your child’s health and future depends on it.
YOUR PRIMARY DOCTOR IS NOT THE SAME AS THE MEDICAL TRANSPORT TEAM
Not all medical doctors are the same. Just because your child is in the care of the medical transport team, it does not mean the primary doctor should not be notified. Your child’s primary doctor needs to be informed about anything and everything.
The reason is because of the following:
1)The primary doctor has known your child the longest and has all the files on your child.
2)The primary doctor knows what works best for your child.
3)There is a level of trust achieved with your child’s primary doctor, a level that can’t be achieved with the medical transport team.
4)The primary doctor can offer specific treatment advice, advise that the medical transport team might not be aware of.
If you find yourself and your child in this situation, please contact your child’s primary doctor ASAP. Your child will feel more at home with his regular doctor, a warmth which can help him through this horrible time.
